While doing some night photography I noticed a car’s headlights standing still on the Florida East Coast/ Brightline tracks. As I got closer it became apparent that a car had taken a wrong turn and had gotten stuck on the tracks. A group was attempting to push it off but to no avail. I was just about to call 911 when a police officer showed up and then soon after an FEC maintenance worker arrived and assured that no trains were due. I don’t know if he somehow knew the car was stuck, someone had called or he just happened to be patrolling the tracks. The driver (a young female) told the police her friend had told her to turn onto a driveway and had gotten confused. She did not appear drunk but I’m sure the police made sure. I left before the car was removed. |
