Description:  The Boston & Albany acquired 10 4-8-0 "Mastodons" from Schenectady Locomotive works in 1899. They weren't popular with the operating dept. and only lasted about 10-15 years.

Description:  "Sport model" A-1-c Berkshire charges upgrade at the "art colony" in this fine sequence by Cliff Scofield. Clifford was a master of the use and care of Speed Graphic cameras and passed away a few years ago in his early '90's.

Description:  B&A "mike" 1214 shoves hard on the rear of the extra 1445 west. The double stone arch at mile 128.25 is a couple hundred feet behind the locomotive and can just be seen near the edge of the tree at the right. Note the outward facing semaphore, also.
