CP 6017 leads 2WWA starting the pull toward the yard
Title:  CP 6017 leads 2WWA starting the pull toward the yard
Description:  This unit had eluded my lens until now, although my dad caught a video of it leading a 281 way back in May, 2010 when it was still in CP Rail System "Dual Flags" paint. That scheme was badly faded then, and the locomotive would wear it for another twelve years!

Beaver Sandwich
Title:  Beaver Sandwich
Description:  The train pulled into the Pit, coupled onto five loaded WSOR Difcos (both railroads utilize this ballast transload site) and pulled them out to set them out of the way on the main west of the switch.

Crossing Dayton Street, ready to line the wye switch
Title:  Crossing Dayton Street, ready to line the wye switch
Description:  After rounding the tight curve on the west leg of the wye, the train will run parallel to the Watertown Sub main for a couple miles before joining the double track CTC territory at Watertown West. The switch used to be in Watertown proper, but was moved following a derailment in fall 2015. Prior to that, it used to be standard practice for these trains to run the power around and shove out onto the main via the east wye switch before heading west.
