Description: |
Good looking 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in November of 1944. This U-1-f class was delivered with semi-streamlined conical smokebox covers that earned them the nickname of" Bullet Nose Bettys". The loco was scrapped June of 1961. Specs - U-1-f class, serial #72768, 73" drivers, impressive 260 psi boiler pressure, 24x30" cylinders, engine weight of 365,700 lb, tractive effort of 52,313 lb. No photographer was listed for this nice photo. |
