Description:  CLOVIS NM Sept 3 1984 -- SD45-2 5685 leads a train at the west fuel racks as another westbound slowly approaches. When I was growing up in Porales in the 50s we used to go El Monterrey Mexicon food restaurant which is in the (far) background behind the trees. Many memories of my dad taking me to the yards and through the employee pedestirn underpass to the roundhouse. I remember a steam entine being in the north stall. No pictures from that era though, only fond memories.

Title:  AT&SF SD45-2 5691
Description:  AT&SF SD45-2 5691, Corwith Yard, Chicago, Illinois, September 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in May 1973 (c/n 72642-5), it was rebuilt at San Bernardino in May 1986 to SD45-2u 5817. It was painted in the SPSF Kodachrome paint scheme and assigned number 7717 so as not to conflict with SP's numbers. I don't know how long it was 7717, if it ever was. It was repainted back to standard AT&SF blue sometime before January 1991, became BNSF 6467 on November 25, 1999, and it appears it now resides in South America.

Description:  CLOVIS NM July 7 1986 -- Santa Fe SD45-2 5693 handles a hopper train on the Transcon. EMD built the 5693 in May 1973. It was rebuilt in San Bernardino CA to an SD45-2u and renumbered to ATSF 5868 in March 1988. Morrison Knudsen performed maintenance on the unit in April 1994. It was transferred to BNSF on Sept. 22 1995. On March 13 2000 it was relettered and renumbered to BNSF 6516. (Roster information from atsf.net)
