Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-0 #3134, ex-B&S 160 |
Description: |
Here's another class E-60/60a built between 1904-08 for the Buffalo & Susquehanna RR. Later this ex-B&S 160 was renumbered 3134. It had 51" drivers and developed 200 psi boiler pressure. Unfortunately like others, no location or date were given for this photo so arbitrary ones were assigned. |

B&O 2-8-0 #3138 - Baltimore & Ohio |
Description: |
This E-60 class Consolidation built sometime between 1904-08 sits inside the B&O roundhouse. The note left by the unknown photographer reads "A B&O Consolidation rests in the roundhouse. She's no. 3138. #3584, a B&O 2-8-2 rests behind 3138. She's getting an overhaul." Obviously this is a very long lasting Consolidation! |

CP 2-8-0 #3229 - Canadian Pacific |
Description: |
Interesting photo of an 1899 Alco-Richmond built ten wheeler. Originally it was #723 but the entire class of ten wheelers went through several rebuilts and renumberings (this one was renumbered in July 1902 to #1025, renumbered in May 1906 to # 1429 ans reclassed from SE3 to M1c, renumbered in April 1913 to #3229, cylinders wer changed from 21&23X26 compound to 20X26 simple in November 1913). Number 3229 was listed as an oil burner between 1938 and 1941. Starting with #3215 being scrapped in June of 1921, most of the class was scrapped in the 1930's. #3214 however, lasted until after WWII before being scrapped in December of 1946, #3229 was scrapped in April 1941. This was marked as a Harold K. Vollrath photo and also marked as having belonged to the Pacific Western Rwy collection (owned and operated by Union Lumber Co). |
