SRS #132 - Sperry Rail Service
Built in 1925 by the St Louis Car as a doodlebug for the Seaboard Air Line, it was converted by the Sperry Rail Services company to a rail detection car. From the photos posted on this website, it was still in service in 2005. The location and date were not marked on the back of the photo but from with the help of Chuck Zeiler's comment below, it must be after 2/1/1962 since the headlight is different after that. If anyone can help fix closer date, please let me know.

Chuck Zeiler General Hi Gary, based solely on photographic evidence, this photo would appear to be after 1962. A photo on this web site dated 1962 shows the headlight on the roof, and another photo dated 1970 shows the EMD switcher style headight in the location seen in this photo. 1/9/2014 10:49:17 AM
Fred Stuckmann General These were cool, loved seeing them out and about. 1/10/2014 5:35:15 PM
