UP 3497, extended length short hood, looking at conductor's side  Contributor's Pick!       
UP 3497 is in Salt Lake City, UT in the summer of 1983; date is uncertain. The unit has an extended short hood, and the number on the cab side as well as the long hood. Sharp eyes will notice the shock absorber on the center truck axles.
