No date with the photo, 1880s is my best guess without a lot of research. On the back of the photo - Maine Central No51 RI 187 16x24 - Building Union Station Portland, ME. - MEC #15 was named BELFAST and was built by the RI Works in 1871 and was sold in Sept of 1894. Photo was originally in the Walter Fogg collection. A tip of the hat of RR History #152 for locomotive background. /DL |
