| This was the Illinois Central Gulf (former Gulf Mobile & Ohio) BOGUE CHITTO BRANCH in Franklinton, Louisiana shortly after it had been abandoned. On the right were former SP (T&NO) 0-6-0 842 (ex-156) and ex-GM&O/GM&N/NOGN 4-6-0 72 which had recently been removed from the a gravel pit just north of here. The 0-6-0 went to the Casey Jones Museum at Vaughn, Mississippi in 1984 and was subsequently relocated to Terry, Mississippi in 2005; while the 4-6-0 was cosmetically restored and is on display here in Franklinton. |
