| Amtrak 10 roomette-6 double bedroom (10RM-6DB) sleeper, ex-CB&Q #430 (Budd, Lot #9660-112, Pullman Plan #9531, July 1952, ordered as a "protection car" for the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR, along with SILVER CRAG), converted to head end power (HEP) in 1981 as #2462, retired in 2000 and leased to VIA Rail, sold to VIA in 2003, assigned to the NORTHERN SPIRIT, with WHALE graphics added to the car's exterior, later resold to Ferromex as FXE #15007. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide. |
