| Looking west from County Road M at Tunnel City. The connection from the old CNW right of way comes in from the right. CNW had their own route through town, with a tunnel of their own. The CNW bore collapsed in 1973 after which, the CNW built a connection track to the Milwaukee so they could both use the same bore. The CNW line west of the Tunnel was abandoned, as the CNW then used the Milwaukee Road track to Medary. (east side of La Crosse ) The Union Pacific now uses these trackage rights. |
