| As has been plainly evident since the first orders of rebuilds started hitting the rails in 2018, they accumulate dust and oil streaks quickly, so there's a very limited window of opportunity to get them looking like this! This may well be only the second revenue trip for 8209 and 8208, the first being the previous day's 288. Notice the dust/mud already apparent on the plow/undercarriage, although nothing above the sill stripe...yet. It also appears they didn't bother to paint the exhaust vents on this order, since it was getting cooked off within weeks. |
