Description:  This solid 2-8-2 Mikado was built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1912 as Chicaog & Eastern Illinois #1905. After nearly 37 years of service, the loco was sold for scrap to Briggs & Turivas in November of 1949. Original specs - serial #51850, N-1 class, 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine weight of 300,000 lb, tractive effort of 55,533 lb. This is a James Bowie photo.
