Fresh from the Lima Lomotive Works, this Lima builder's photo shows the 0-8-0 #246 before it was delivered to the Chesapeake & Ohio in October of 1943. The loco was later sold to the Virginian RR in September of 1950. Finally after only 12 years of dual serivce, the loco met with the scrapper's torch in April of 1957. Specs - serial #7969, class C-16,. 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 244,000 lb, and tractive effort of 57,200 lb. |
