| Description: |
Here is a former Union Pacific rebuilt F9AM loco still wearing its Union Pacific colors in a trio of power. UP F3A #1502 (nee - UP F3A 1461) was retired in November of 1958 but chosen to be rebuilt by UP and EMD into UP F9AM #531 with a new EMD 567C 16-cylinder prime mover. It was sold to Rock Island and renumbered CRIP F9AM #4162. Unfortunately no date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used. |
