CRIP F9AM #4155 - Rock Island |
| Description: |
Nice action shot of the former rebuilt UP unit with additional A & B units all still wearing its UP colors but with the Rock Island herald on its nose. Union Pacific had retired UP F3A 1518 (nee-UP F3A 1411A) in May of 1958. It was rebuilt by UP and EMD in August of 1958 into UP F9 #518 and AM #4155 which included a new prime mover, EMD 567C 16 cylinder. It was later sold to the Rock Island as their #4155. Unfortunately no date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used. |
