Former Illinois Central 4-6-2 number 1196 was parked in the gravel pit at Shiloh, Louisiana with a line of other Louisiana Eastern locomotives. The 1196 had been built at Alco’s Schenectady Works in October 1920, was acquired by the Louisiana Eastern in April 1958 and was scrapped here in November 1962 without ever receiving an LERR number. |
