Title:
PRR 7256, EFS-17M, 1967
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7256, #2656, and an unidentified EMD "F" unit. #7256 is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2656 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Note Milepost 240 on the far left.
