Description:  Pennsylvania Railroad E8 5789 at Englewood, on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, on April 11, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in May 1952 (c/n 15654) on EMD Order 6354A, was later renumbered PRR 4249, retaining that number through PC and CR ownership.

All were built by GM-EMD. #5789, #5801, and #5889 are EP-22's rated at 2,250 horsepower each; #5789 was built in May of 1952, #5801 in June of 1952, and #5889 in April of 1950. #5844-B is an EP-20 built in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They're pulling a 38-car mail & express train (with "Railway Express" N-5 cabin car #5031) to Altoona and points West. Photo taken from the Riggle's Gap Bridge.
