Description:  With Amtrak by, and the sun now turned well to the western skies, it was time to head up to the Knox Highway overpass overlooking BNSFs massive Galesburg Yard. Last year when dad and I were here for Railroad Days, the bridge was closed for re-decking. But, it was back open again this year and I was ready to see what sort of goodies Galesburg was hiding today. When I got up there, I was greeted with plenty of orange at the locomotive shops, but there were plenty of other colors to be seen here too. It is usually a rainbow of colors here most days. I think the strangest part of being up here though was having the entire bridge to myself! Not a single other railfan was up here, a luxury that Dad and I dont usually get when we visit here in June. Definitely a much different experience!
